Food is not just a source of sustenance; it’s a reflection of a person’s personality and personal preferences. Across different countries, states, cultures & cuisines, all vary widely; specially in incorporating unique ingredients, flavors, and cooking techniques. We explored few Restaurant together & came up with some amazing experiences.

Exploring different foods has always been my thing. I love to get flavors of surprises & I really want to share my experiences with you all.

So I went to Mumbai for few days & tried foods at few restaurant & my experience amazed me. Let me share it with you all briefly:

1. Origami Japanese & Korean Restaurant

It’s a fine dine Asian restaurant & most authentic one. We both were amazed by the ambiance. It was his first time to be in Authentic Japanese & Korean restaurant; I dragged him into it though.

As we entered the restaurant, our eyes stuck & attracted by the decor, it contributes to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, the cozy, elegant and sophisticated, vibrant and energetic & the icing on the cake was Japanese flowering cherry tree at the center. As we entered they first asked at the door about the reservation & preferences of food; as they serve both continental & Asian. We had our reservation; make sure you have your reservation before going there. On weekends you could find more engaged tables, so it’s better & advisable to hack it first.

Not just the ambiance they do serve amazing foods, we choose Asian cuisine to try so we were directed towards the Asian cuisine site; it was inside the same restaurant, you could also opt for outdoor seatings.

As I said they offer you both Asian & continental foods; also they have multiple options of alcoholic beverages & bar on site, cocktails, wine, late-night foods. Plenty of parking & valet parking also available.

We ordered Miso Ramen ( chicken/Pork with broth, soyabean paste) , Tendon ( Tempura Rice Bowl ) , sake sashimi ( Pacific salmons ) for two of us.

The actual Miso Ramen has a broth made from miso paste and other ingredients like chicken, fish, other meats or vegetables; & we got that one, it had a strong taste of its own. It was amazing to try the Authentic one but it was definitely not for the soft palate people who always stick to strong Indian taste. It had a strong aroma, a raw smell & the taste of ingredients were fresh.

Though he only had two spoon of Miso Ramen & I ate the rest.

Secondly, we ordered the Tendon (non-veg), the Golden crispy shrimp served over steamed rice and drizzled with dipping sauce. It was amazing perfectly cooked, taste was amazing; I would recommend it.

Third one which I ordered was out of his box the Sake Salmon Sashimi , it was actually a Japanese delicacy of thinly sliced raw fish. I was totally onto that; it was my first to try a salmon, a raw one; it was delicious they served it with drippings & other side dishes without rice.

Overall experience was fabulous, a good place to go on for a date, or with bunch of friends , family & also for the people who want to try actual authentic taste of Asian food.

Next time I would love to have something new out of the box thing.

2. Chimichurri Asian Restaurant, Andheri

It is another Asian restaurant & here definitely you get palatable taste of Asian foods. If you are new to Asian foods & want to try out of box for the very first time then definitely it is for you. They serve a wide range of Asian foods & alcoholic beverages.

I visited here in the afternoon time; the ambiance was good. They have plenty of space & place to be seated. It’s better to have your reservation early specially on weekends.

Everyday they have something special on their menu, you could check it out also.

I had Mix Sea Food Ramen & California Crab Sushi Roll, both were fabulous. Mix Sea Food Ramen was not spicy though but had full of flavors; Sea Food contents like prawn, squid & mostly basal fish they used in it. Definitely give it a shot.

And Crab Sushi Roll was also good though. It’s a good place to hang out with friends, family or definitely for small chit-chat. Overall experience was good I would love to go back to try some new other dishes.

3. Mahesh lunch House Juhu

They literally served the best sea food in Mumbai. It is a fine dine restaurant, they serve most authentic Mangalorean seafood dishes along with alcoholic beverages.

We both had a dinner over here. The ambience was good, the place was cosy & comfortable. Make sure you definitely have a reservation before visiting here; this place is always on demand, so it’s better to hack it first & definitely be on time. We reached 15mins late because of Mumbai’s traffic & for that we had to wait for another half an hour to clear the spot. We waited because we wanted to try what we heard & it was all worth it.

We tried crab stuff sukka mangalorean style, prawn Malabar chilli & surmai tawa fry fish; it was all mouth watering. Highlight was its freshness, flavor, and variety.

The former dish was made with Fresh crab meat stuffed with a flavorful mixture of aromatic spices, grated coconut, onions, and herbs & infused with all the delicious flavors. It’s a must-try for seafood lovers looking to experience authentic Mangalorean cuisine at its finest.

Secondly we ordered was prawn malabar chilli & it was a mouthwatering dish, cooked in a spicy and aromatic gravy infused with traditional South Indian spices. Prawn Malabar Chilli is a true culinary delight that showcases the unique flavors of Kerala cuisine ( it was all told by our table host).

Third one, The Surmai Tawa Fry fish, it was marinated surmai (kingfish) with spices. It was served with lemon wedges and fresh salad on the side; it was another watering dish, we would love to be back there for another amazing meal.

4. Dakshin Garden Bar & Kitchen

This one is the another amazing, cozy bar & restaurant we visited, they do serve some amazing north Indian, south Indian foods along with these they do serve Chinese & some good sea foods & alcoholic beverages.

The ambience was neat, modern elegance and cozy intimacy. As you step through the entrance, you’re enveloped by soft lighting that casts a warm glow across the tastefully decorated interior. Whether you’re seeking a romantic dinner for two or a gathering with friends, they will provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience.

We had a dinner over here, we ordered Chicken lemon coriander soup, pomfret tawa fry, fruit punch, prawn kadi patta & for main course we ordered egg masala & naan. Chicken lemon coriander soup was flavorful and refreshing soup. It was mind refreshing. We enjoyed the Pomfret tawa fry as it was delicious and aromatic pomfret, we took it as a delightful appetizer. Along with it we had Prawn kadi patta; which was flavorful Indian seafood dish that features prawns cooked in a rich and aromatic curry infused with curry leaves & all it was finger Licking.

We found the fruit punch drink was bit sweeter side for us but if you are into sweets then this drink you should try. And the main course egg curry & naan was also good. I would love to be there again.

5. Pizza express Colaba

If you are into pizzas then definitely a must visit place. They have a lot of branches in the city plus outside in many metro cities. They do serve some amazing pizzas & all are handmade freshly along with they serve both alcoholic & non alcoholic beverages.

The ambience, combination of soft ambient lighting and task lighting to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, beautiful seating areas & balanced visually appealing ambiance.

We ordered The Romana Spicy Pizza, it is one of the signature offerings from Pizza Express. It was a delicious pizza that features a thin and crispy Romana-style base topped with spicy ingredients for a bold and flavorful experience. We both loved it. It was my second best pizza till now ( about first one i will tell you & write about it when I’ll visit there ). Hope when you try The Romana Spicy Pizza it will surely satisfy your craving for a fiery and flavorful pizza experience.

Secondly we ordered penne cream grilled chicken pasta , it was good but we had it better before. Along with all this they gave us Dough ball pizza complimentary, we enjoyed it though.

Overall, though; I don’t eat pizza on a regular basis, but if I have ever cravings for pizzas then I would love to choose Pizza express.

Enjoy !
