Sarudih Tea Garden
Sarudih Tea Garden: Who would have thought that one day in Chhattisgarh in our Jashpur district we will witness the tea plantation in a huge area. It was all started back in 2010 in a large 20 acre estate in Sarudih.
Anyone who is in India whenever hear the Tea word the mind directly travels to Assam and Northeast.
No doubt we have had beautiful view and suitable climate for its production in Northeast but for the very first time in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, because of its cold climate and hilly areas which is suitable for cultivation the tea plantation has started and now the place is known as Sarudih Tea Garden.
How to Reach Sarudih Tea Garden:
Sarudih Tea Garden is situated in the heart of Jashpur, from Kunkuri it is 48kms via NH43 and it almost take one to one and half an hour to reach.
And there is another route which could save you half an hour but you have to travel through Damera Ghat which is quietly avoided by first time travellers.
( I would only suggest this path to people who are sensible and always alert on driving. And if you are choosing this one please avoid after sunset ).

Our experience:
I have visited the Tea plantation area in almost all season but my favourite is always the winter one.
It took us one hour to reach the Sarudih Tea plantation from Kunkuri and for first time visitors it is tough to reach as sometime google map takes you to different location as it did to us but with the help of locals we found it.
My first impression was a sip of senerity. There was something meditative about walking in-between the tea plantation and by walking side by side we also tried the freshly brewed tea.

The moment I stepped into the lush green slopes the wave of calm replaced the usual noise of everyday.
The air was cool, crisp, foggy carried with fainted earthy aroma like the feeling of freshly brewed tea.
The landscape was not perfectly symmetrical instead, the gentle curves of tea bushes flowed along the hills by the side of longing trees and one time I fell literally and tasted that curve because one of my reckless move and excitement.
One misplaced step on the slope and suddenly I wasn’t admiring the view I was the part of it.
As I brush off the leaves I couldn’t help but think isn’t the life is bit like a plantation: uneven, unpredictable, yet endlessly forgiving when you take a tumble.
That day I didn’t just see the beauty of tea plantation but I felt it with every scratch and smile and that will last with me forever.
Hope you also get to known more on your visit and please enlighten me where I lagged.
