Kolab reservoir
We tagged the Kolab reservoir during our Araku valley visit.
Kolab reservoir: it is the majestic Kolab Reservoir which generates Hydro Electric Power sitting at an altitude of about 914.4 m (3,000 ft) above sea level on river Kolab, it is a tributary of Godvari river.
The distance we covered from Jeypore, Odisha to kolab was 42kms & from Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh it is 126kms.
Project:
Hydro Electric Project; the potential of river , a tributary of river Godavari is been utilized in developing power, substantial capacity, generates electricity for the region.
Tourism:
Kolab dam is the beautiful scenic attraction in Odisha.
A botnical garden, Kolab Park built near the dam has around 200 & more varieties of Flowering plants which attracts the tourists & considered as one of the best place to spend the weekend with family for picnic and boating.
Rock garden view point
It is situated near the Kolab Dam. A sceneric view point from where you can see the expanse of Kolab River & can deep merge into the beauty of Nature.
Upper colab Mountain View point
Upper Kolab mountain view was another picturesque landscapes; what we captured through our eyes are beyond any words.
Ours experience
Every place near kolab was another level of picturesque for us.
Make sure to bring good camera to capture the moments.
We went through ups and downs of kolab road & mark every curve near it.
Rock garden view point , upper kolab mountain view point you will realize with each angle you fall even more for the nature & picturesque landscape that combines natural and man-made elements.
Kolab reservoir Surrounding the water, you see lush greenery, hills & mountains, contributing to the scenic beauty.
The Dam structure showcasing impressive engineering with its concrete walls or earthen embankments.
Overall what we experience, the Dam view combines elements of tranquility and grandeur, offering a unique perspective on the interaction between human ingenuity and the natural environment.
It was all surreal.
